Nero is incredibly protective of his family in DMC 4 because they're all he's got. Even when Vergil staggers in to the garage at the start of 5 and steals Nero's arm, Nero offers to give him some food before realising Vergil is a demon. When we get to the end of 5, Nero doesn't want Vergil dead either.
27 votes, 22 comments. true. The video is helpful, I didn't know the jump had iframes, but one of my main problems even after learning this and why I think dmc needs a dodge is that this series even compared to other spectacle fighters places such a huge emphasis on looking cool.

In the DMC4 novel it is mentioned that right before Nero gets his DT he has some sort of vision of a man (heavily implied to be Vergil). In this vision the man mentions he desires more power and Nero asks for some of that, which grants him Yamato and his DT. This would suggest Vergil was looking after Nero and did his best to try help him.
